Andre the Butcher
Starring:
Ron Jeremy
Directed by:
Phillip Cruz
Rated R
Genre:
Horror/Comedy
Synopsis:
A group of four cheerleaders (one guy and three girls) are on their way to
a competition in Florida when they get into an accident and find
themselves in the same general vicinity of a crazy killer named Andre the
Butcher.
My Thoughts:
I really couldn't tell if this movie was supposed to be a comedy or a
horror, so I classified it as both. This film was also released as Dead
Meat. This film was so strange, I am not sure how this movie is
going to rate.
Scorecard
Acting-
The acting in this movie was bad. But what do you expect
from a former porn star and four cheerleaders? Ron Jeremy starred as Andre
the Butcher and was just plain odd in the role. He was supposed to be a
crazy serial killer, but no one could take him seriously because he did
some strange and sort of funny things, overall, the acting in this movie
almost made me lose my dinner. (0)
Direction-
I looked to find out who this guy was that directed this film, but
couldn't find anything on him. The film flowed somewhat, although the
story made it zig zag its way to the end, the direction wasn't overly
terrible. (1/2)
Story-
An urban legend come to life. Andre the Butcher was a good church going
man, until his family died, then he became an insane killer spawned from
the devil himself. I personally didn't like the way this story was
written. It was very funny to start out with, then turned serious, then
back to funny, they disgusting, then back to serious again, and ended with
funny. It didn't work, plain and simple. (0)
Expectations-
I was expecting this movie to be bad. It was. Made this category really
easy. (1/2)
Boring?-
This film had a lot of down time. Like I said under the "Story"
category, the story made it hard to follow at points, and you weren't sure
if you should be laughing or you should be seriously thinking, and at some
parts, the were trying way too hard to be funny and it made it even worse.
This movie in my eyes was boring. (0)
Final Score: 1
out of 5
Final Thoughts:
Unless you are a fan of friggin' weird movies, try and stay away from this
one. My friend Steve said it best while we were watching this..."What
the Hell is this!?" I couldn't have said it better myself, thanks
Steve.
