worse.
Scorecard
Acting-
Lisa Wilcox returns as Alice (the same character in the 4th film) and does
a really bad job. When your main character does not give a good
performance, you are going to have problems. But luckily this film had
Beatrice Boepple playing Amanda Kruger. Boepple gives an incredible
performance for a horror movie as Freddy's mom, she and Robert Englund as
Freddy are the saving grace for acting in this film. (1/2)
Direction- Stephen Hopkins has given us such great
classics as Predator 2 and Lost in Space. Hopkins actually does a
pretty good job with making this film move along. While he did have a
terrible story to work with, he made things work very well enough to get
at least a half star. (1/2)
Story-
Let me get this off my chest....CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!! okay, now
that that is done with. This story was god awful. I enjoyed the addition
of Amanda Kruger, but that was the only thing I really liked about this
story. Most of this story made little to no sense what so ever. Even for a
horror movie story, this was paper thin. It was made to seem that a baby
is what defeats Freddy, and that was just terrible. (0)
Expectations-
I am still hoping that something will pick up to save this franchise, but
sadly, I will still have to wait. This film did not meet any of the
expectations I had for it. (0)
Boring?- This film had a short running time of just
under 90 minutes. This was a good thing, because it would have gone on any
further it would have gone from bad to terrible. There was a lot of
nonsensical things in this movie that made you rolling your eyes and a few
holes that really had you wondering why they were there, but for the most
part, it does keep you entertained, which is odd if you think about it. (1/2)
Final
Score: 1
1/2 out of 5
Final Thoughts:
Does this film really deserve a one and a half? Not really, but it earned
it. There was nothing to memorable about this film, but it was what it
was, a bad horror film. After this film, I began to expect nothing, I
think that the franchise was well over with at this point, yet it
continued. Do not see this movie, unless you have 90 minutes to kill and
love horror movies that are nothing but eye candy.
