Big
Fish

Starring: Ewan
McGregor
Directed by: Tim
Burton
Rated PG-13
Synopsis: Edward Bloom
liked to tell tales. His son Will never liked the stories his father told
because they always seemed like total fiction. Or are they?
My Thoughts: Right off
the bat I hated this movie...I am not a big fan of Tim Burton, I never
have been, and never will be. But this movie wasn't his "normal"
off the wall creepy comedy, this movie told a great story and was acted
spectacularly. Here's how it breaks down:
SCORECARD:
Acting: McGregor did a great
job as the young Edward Bloom, the character was way out there. Danny
DeVito as the circus ringleader was very funny, and did a great job. (1)
Direction: The direction of
this movie was shaky at times, it still was pretty good, and went right
were it should have. (1/2)
Story: This was a very
intriguing story, it was a little slow, but still was a story worth
telling. The ending was the best part. (1)
Expectations: Like I said
earlier, I had no expectations for this movie, it was a Tim Burton film,
so I thought I was going to hate it, surprisingly I didn't. (1)
Boring?: Yeah, a few parts
of this movie drag some, but it isn't overly boring, the point of this
whole movie is to tell a story, and that can get very boring, but it
wasn't "Roll your eyes back in your head" boring. (1/2)
Final Score: 4 out
of 5
Final Thoughts: I was
thinking that not too many people have heard of this movie, but when I
looked to see how much this movie made in theaters I was shocked...this
movie actually did quite well bringing in almost $66 million. So I guess
this movie isn't as underrated as I thought it was.
