Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush Directed by: Gore Verbiski Rated PG-13 Synopsis: Elizabeth is to marry a commodore. She is in love with a blacksmith named Will. They both meet a pirate named Jack Sparrow, who is trying to get his ship back from the mutineers that took it from him. But they are cursed. My Thoughts: This movie was great in almost every way imaginable. If you haven't yet seen this movie, drop what ever it is you are doing and go to your local video store and pick it up NOW. Scorecard: Acting - If you do not know by now, I am not a big fan of Johnny Depp. His character of Captain Jack Sparrow is just gold in this movie. Bloom and Knightley both do great jobs in their respective characters. But the man that steals the movie is Captain Barbossa played by Geoffrey Rush, he just did an amazing job. (1) Direction - This movie went right where it should have. The direction was almost perfect, there are a few iffy parts, but not nearly enough to hurt the rating. (1) Story - The way this story was written was unbelievable. It was almost flawless. Action, Drama, Suspense, Comedy and Romance all rolled into one. Awesome job on the story. (1) Expectations - There was high expectations going into seeing this movie. It really didn't disappoint. (1/2) Boring? - There are some parts to this movie that are a little dull, and some that have you hoping that its going to be over soon, but the boring parts a perfectly spaced apart throughout the whole movie. (1/2) Final Score - 4 out of 5 Final Thoughts: This was a great movie. It was just plain fun to watch. Go see it if you haven't already, and If you have...go see it again anyways.
