Scorecard
Acting-
Robert Englund returns as Freddy Kruger as does another incredible job!
While there were no real big name actors in this film, everyone together
pulled their weight and the entire cast pulls off an amazing job in
acting. (1)
Direction-
Ronny Yu is mostly known for his Chinese movies. I believe that he did an
amazing job directing this film. Everything seemed to click just right.
Everything just fell into place. Acting was great, the film flowed
nicely.. (1)
Story-
Freddy Kruger is in hell, and he is not being remembered so he goes out
and gets Jason Voorhees to begin killing people in Springwood so people
might begin remembering him. It works. But Freddy begins to get cocky and
soon Jason pulls Freddy into the real world and a clash of the horror
titans happens, much to EVERYONE's delight. (1)
Expectations-
I love it when movies mix. I was hoping this movie would be a very fun, it
was, but it was far beyond just fun. This film told a good story, and had
a lot of over the top action that just plain RULED! (1)
Boring?-
There were a lot of scenes that were overdone, but it worked for this
film. But there was some slow parts that seemed to drag the film down just
a tad. Luckily there weren't anymore slow spots than there were, because
it would have really hurt the film then. (1/2)
Final
Score: 4
1/2 out of 5
Final Thoughts:
This film was perhaps one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. It
was over the top but it was all in great fun. Who wouldn't want to see
Freddy Kruger vs. Jason Voorhees? It is truly a match made in hell, and it
was awesome. I do believe that even if you are not a fan of horror movies
you will enjoy this movie because there was not a lot of scary "bump
in the night" type scenes, this was actually more of an
action/comedy/thriller than anything else. Go see this movie, you will not
regret it.
