My Thoughts: I read
the book before I saw the movie. I was very intrigued by the story. I was ecstatic
when I heard that it was being made into a movie. So here we go.
SCORECARD:
Acting: Jude Law as a paraplegic
was very well cast, he did an excellent and believable job as an angry man
who has lost everything. Ethan Hawke did a very good job as Vincent and
played the part perfectly, I wasn't a fan of choosing Uma Thurman as Irene
because I don't find her to be all that talented of an actress, but she
did a fine job here. (1)
Story: Like I said earlier, I
read the book first, so I knew what was coming. This story was very
interesting and captivating. Just the whole idea was brilliant. (1)
Direction: The director of
this movie has only done a few big projects, the three I have seen were
all very well done. (Lord of War, Simone, Gattaca). There was a little bit
that didn't really click, but overall the direction of the movie was good
enough. (1/2)
Expectations: I had high
expectations for this movie, it did disappoint a little but not a whole
lot. (1/2)
Boring?: Not at all boring.
The story was written well enough to keep you intrigued and wanting to
know what happens next. (1)
FINAL SCORE: 4 out of
5
Final Thoughts: This
was my favorite movie for the longest time, I really enjoyed every aspect
of this movie.
