Home Alone

 Starring: Macaulay Culkin

 Directed by: Chris Columbus

 Rated PG

 Genre: Family

Synopsis: A family in a rush to get to the airport for a Christmas vacation, accidentally leave 8 year old Kevin at home to fend off burglars.

My Thoughts: This is the ultimate kid power movie and is also one of the highest grossing movies ever grossing about $477 million dollars. Impressive.

   Scorecard

Acting- Macaulay Culkin at eight years old, and does a great job for an eight year old. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the "Wet Bandits" were very entertaining and did a decent enough job in their roles. (1)

Direction- This film had perfect flow to it. There was some down time, but there wasn't a lot of it to keep the rating down. (1)

Story- Kid gets left behind and fights off bad guys. Not a great story, but it was good enough to keep kids and their parents entertained. (1/2)

Expectations- When I first saw this movie, I didn't even know what expectations meant. I was hoping this would be an awesome movie, it was fun, but not awesome. (1/2)

Boring?- While there wasn't a whole lot of boring spots, it was repetitive and it really hurt the quality of the movie. (1/2)

   Final Score: 3 1/2 out of 5

Final Thoughts: This was a fun movie, especially for kids. This was the first of many Home Alone movies, and like most, it just goes downhill from here.
