I, Robot

 Starring: Will Smith

 Directed by: Alex Proyas

 Rated PG-13

 Genre: Science Fiction

Synopsis: In the year 2035, robots are apart of everyone's everyday lives. When a scientist that was responsible for bringing robots into the homes of millions is found dead from an apparent suicide, one cop speculates that it may have been a robot that killed him.

My Thoughts: This movie was based on the Isaac Asimov's short stories of the same name. This movie was very intriguing and keeps you interested throughout the entire movie, and entertains you for the entire 115 minutes of the movie. Lets see how it adds up.

   Scorecard:

Acting- Will Smith plays a cop who is weary of robots ever since he was in a bad accident that took his arm, and a robot chose to save him over a little girl. Smith did an excellent job and played the prejudice against robots role very well. Bruce Greenwood plays the CEO of the largest robotic company in the world and acts the part perfectly, you don't know if you should like him or hate him. James Cromwell plays the scientist that ends up dead, while not in the movie a whole lot, for what he did, it was great. And Bridget Moynahan played the robotics employee that is in charge of showing the Will Smith character around, and she also did a great job for what she had. But the surprising part of this movie and the greatest acting job of this movie actually came from the robot Sonny. He was voiced by Alan Tudyk ( the guy that played Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball) and for some strange reason, I think that it was his character and acting that really carried this movie. (1)

Direction- Director Alex Proyas did an excellent job with what he was given by the screenwriters. Having seen his other works, I was sort of worried that he would ruin this movie, but was surprised with what I got. This movie flowed very well and was entertaining to watch, thanks to the direction of the movie. (1)

Story- A Chicago cop doesn't trust robots, he is shot into an investigation of an apparent suicide of a scientist that rebuilt his arm after a horrible accident. Immediately he suspects foul play, and the story moves from there. I was very impressed with the way this movie was written. (1)

Expectations- I expected way too much of this movie. That really hurt its rating. If I didn't expect greatness from this movie, this could have easily been a 5 star movie, but sadly, I expected too much, and got about what I expected and not more. (1/2)

Boring?- While there are a few slow parts, the movie as a whole was not at all boring. It keeps you entertained and a lot of parts keep you on the edge of your seat. (1)

   Final Score: 4 1/2 out of 5

Final Thoughts: This movie was awesome. This is by far the best SciFi movie I have ever seen. Everything just worked perfectly. This movie is one of those that you just have to see to believe. The graphics are amazing, the acting was all surprisingly great, and everything clicked to make this movie gold.
