Scream
Starring: Neve Campbell Directed by: Wes Craven Rated R Genre: Horror Synopsis: A crazy killer is running amuck in the small town of Woodsboro, taunting his soon to be victims with questions about horror movies, the town is in a panic because the killer could be anyone. My Thoughts: This movie is one of the best acted horror movies I have personally ever seen. I was very impressed with the story, the back story and the whole feel to this movie. Let's see how this movie ranks. Scorecard Acting- Look at the actors in this movie...Neve Campbell (plays Sidney), Courtney Cox (plays the bitch reporter), David Arquette (plays the moronic deputy), Jaime Kennedy (plays the stupid friend that works at a video store), Skeet Ulrich (plays the crazy former boyfriend to Sidney), Rose McGowen (plays the best friend to Sidney), with all them actors, this is bound to be pretty good right? Everyone played their parts perfectly and was very impressed with the way things turned out. (1) Direction- I was not a big fan of Wes Craven when this movie came out. This far surpassed anything I was expecting from him. I really liked the direction of this film, it went right where it should have, and things were kept thrilling on the way there. Impressive direction. (1) Story- This story was never all that great. Crazy murderer(s) kill just to do it. No real reason. I liked the way the film was written, but I did not like the plot of the movie. If that makes sense to you, give yourself a pat on the back! (1/2) Expectations- This movie was great. I expected in to be pretty good, but it was great. It kind of surpassed expectations I had for it, but not by much, so I really cannot give it a full star. (1/2) Boring?- Not if you like a lot of killings. This movie was just really fun to watch. It had crazy killings, good acting, bad acting (in a good way), clever dialogue and a crazy killer(s) walking around in a ghost mask. What more can you ask for? (1) Final Score: 4 out of 5 Final Thoughts: This movie was pure gold. There was nothing I really did not like about this movie. It was all good clean wholesome fun, with a lot of blood, deaths for no reason, and even some fun trivia on horror movies. If you have yet to see this movie, I really urge you to go see it.
