The Matrix Reloaded

 Starring: Keanu Reeves

 Directed by: The Wachowski Brothers

 Rated R

 Theatrical Release Year: 2003

 Genre: Action/Science Fiction

Synopsis: The world of the Matrix is in trouble now that Agent Smith has become to take control of everything and everyone.

My Thoughts: While this film does not quite live up to the greatness of the first movie, this one certainly holds its own.

  Scorecard

Acting- The great cast returns. Reeves does another good job in the role of Neo. The entire cast as a whole works very nicely together and everything clicked well. Personally, I think that the addition to Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe was a nice touch and Lambert Wilson as The Marovingian was perfectly casted. (1)

Direction- The Wachowski Brothers stepped up in direction from the first movie. I was really impressed with the continuity of this movie. While there were slow spots, I do not believe that it was the direction that made the slow spots, it had to have been due to the story. (1)

Story- The Matrix has been reloaded and is in trouble because Agent Smith has become unplugged and is basically a virus now taking over any and everything in the matrix. This was well written, with the exception of a few parts that were incredibly bad. These few bad scenes really hurt the flow of the story. (1/2)

Expectations- I was hoping that this film would be as awesome if not better that the first one. Sadly, it flopped in my eyes. Sure it was a fun movie, but for some reason, it just did not live up to the hype it created, or the original movie. (0)

Boring?- There were some spots in this story that really had you scratching your head as to why they were in the film. I am still wondering about some parts. Yes, there was a lot of greatness in this movie, but there was a lot of slow parts that really slowed the movie down, and in my opinion, I think it slowed it down too much. (1/2)

Final Score: 3 out of 5

Final Thoughts: This movie got a very loose 3 star. I would seriously only recommend this movie if you are a huge fan of the original Matrix movie. If you did not enjoy the first one, you would HATE this one. To be honest, I do not think that this movie really deserves a 3 star, but that's what it earned.
