continues to reek havoc on the Matrix. The final battle between the chosen
one and the virus is destined to take place now.
My Thoughts:
This was a very interesting way to end a pretty successful
franchise.
Scorecard
Acting-
The group from the second film returns for this one. Again, Reeves does a
good job in his character Neo, and again, the entire cast pulls their
weight and the overall acting turned out to be borderline fantastic. (1)
Direction-
Andy and Larry Wachowski hit a home run with Reloaded. But sadly, they
looked burned out with this film. The entire film looked a little shaky,
the story did not flow very well, there were a few plot holes, and some
things that just didn't make much sense. (1/2)
Story-
It was completely obvious that this film was written the same time as
Reloaded. There were a few holes in the story, and a few shaky parts that
seemed to slow the flow of the film, but overall the film was really well
written. The screenwriters (also the Wachowski brothers) seemed to be
stretching for things that they really didn't have to. There was a lot of
continuity so that helped a lot, and it had an ending that satisfied some,
but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. (1/2)
Expectations-
I was hoping that the Matrix Franchise would go out with a bang. While it
wasn't quite the bang I was hoping for, at least it wasn't a whimper. This
film did not live up to the expectations, I was, again, hoping that it
would be just as good as the original Matrix movie, it wasn't on that
level, but at least it was just a bit better than Reloaded, so I have to
give it at least a half star. (1/2)
Boring?-
There were some incredibly slow spots, but the slow spots were there to
help continue the story that they had been building. I wouldn't say that
this movie was boring in the normal sense, but there were some dull parts
that seemed to drag. (1/2)
Final
Score: 3 out
of 5
Final Thoughts:
Sheesh, to be honest, I don't think that this movie really deserves a 3
star either. But it earned it...barely. While this movie was just a tad
bit better than the matrix reloaded, it didn't stand out as great. It had
an ending, and that is what everyone wanted. Then ending was not great by
any standards, but it was an ending. I only recommend this movie if you
were a fan of the second movie, or if you want an ending to the series.
