Young
Van Helsing
(no poster sorry!)
Starring: Keith Jordan
Directed by: Kevin Summerfield
Unrated
Genre: Action
Synopsis: A young high school student in the 90's
finds out that he is related to the famous vampire slayer Abraham van Helsing,
so he goes off in search of a magic scepter of god to vanquish vampires and evil
forever.
My Thoughts: Where to begin... 99 percent of the
time, you do a "Young" movie, it is going to fail miserably (with the
exception of Young Frankenstein). This movie not only failed big time, it was
agonizing watching it fail.
Scorecard:
Acting-
These actors all being Z grade actors who have never took an acting course in
their lives were hurtful to watch. It really was hard. There was so much
over-acting that it became annoying. (0)
Direction-
Whenever someone writes and directs a movie, it is going to be hurting. That's
what happened here. The writer/director really didn't have anyone else to share
the vision he had with, so the outcome was there was no real flow to the movie. (0)
Story-
Like I said earlier, whenever you have a Young anything, its almost guaranteed
to be bad. A kid from the 20th century finds out he is a relative of a famous
vampire slayer, he meets up with an annoying professor of history that tells him
about his famous relative. Hilarity should ensue...but it doesn't its torture. (0)
Expectations-
Being naive myself, reading the back of this DVD made me think that this might
be pretty good. At least good enough not to make me want to heave myself off of
the nearest freeway overpass. This thing failed in every aspect of expectations.
(0)
Boring?-
This one is hard. The movie wasn't boring per se but it was obnoxiously
annoying. The professor in this movie was so damned annoying you wanted to reach
into your television and pull him out just so you can beat the crap out of him.
But because I hated this movie so much, I am changing this category for this
movie so it can get what it rightfully deserves. (0)
Final Score: DUNG!
0 out of 5
Final Thoughts: There are few movies that I will
tell you to really avoid like the plague. I would like you people to make up
your own minds about movies. But trust me on this one, please save yourselves
the two hours and the money, this is one of the few that you really don't EVER
want to have to see.
